    Pros +

    • Excellent and clean ,beautiful view
    • The location was decent.
    • The hotel had the most spacious, light, comfortable and beautiful room we stayed in during our six week holiday in Japan. My friend and I were even able to have daily yoga sessions in our room! The hotel also had a wonderful Onsen, again, my favorite of many during our trip. The location if conveniently located withing walking distance of the little town, and driving distance to the local National Parks. And finally, they had the best Yukatas in all of Japan...so soft and comfortable.

    Cons -

    • There was an electric kettle in the room but no coffee, only tea. It was very disappointing.
    • The onsite dining options were expensive, and limited to huge buffets, so we end up going into town for all of our meals, and the choices in town are limited. Also, despite the beautiful view from the hotel, there wasn't a bar where you could have a drink and light snack to watch the sunset which seemed a shame.
    • Buffet dinner and breakfast. A beautiful sunset.

Beautiful environment. The only thing I didn’t like was the facility is too big and the women public bath was located too complicated.

Buffet dinner and breakfast. A beautiful sunset.

Great location, close to restaurants and convenient stores and sight seeing

    Very dated, dirty carpet

Onsen is the best. Very convenient location

The dinner buffet is very expensive.

A time warp! Think 1980s and maybe a bit Russian in style the decor was very well kept but a total blast. We embraced it! Our tatami and futon room was huge and very comfortable with a view of the Okhotsk Sea and the men's Onsen had about 10 pools and was very good. The dinner and breakfast buffets were overwhelming there was so much choice. The food was good but not spectacular. It was a great spot for accessing the Shiretoko national park we had a car and there is heaps of free parking. Shiretoko Steak house opp the World Heritage Centre on the main Rd served us an excellent steak the second night would highly recommend ?

Nothing really. The decor was a blast from the past and the hotel is enormous but it was a fun experience for a couple of nights

We are offered a nice and spacious sea view room. The shuttle bus to bus terminal downhill is convenient in winter. The buffet for dinner and breakfast are good but the dishes are not changed so we feel a little bored after 4 days.

Good food, the breakfast view is superb l,very comfortable hotel

Need to have car or bus the slope with snows can be challenging

    9ManPosted on: 11-9-2024

Room is big, good bath, Excellent breakfast and dinner. Many nice pictures about the nature of Shiretoko decorating in the Lobby.

    9SolarbomberPosted on: 10-20-2024

Very big room and space. Not far from shiretoko national park.Very fresh and tasty food for both dinner and breakfast, especially salmon and hotate sashimi. They also provide tempura and sushi that made from order.Lots of choice of the food and dessert. The staff is nice.

Quite early for the check out time.

The hotel sits on a hill and a huge complex. We arrived after dark and they came to pick us up. A large Onsen with several kinds. Foods were very good and they had many choices. I think the hotel could have been more crowded if we had gone in September. We were able to catch a bus to Sapporo at the hotel.

We did not have our own car and we had to climb up the hill to get back to the hotel. They probably could come to pick us up but we walked anyway.

    9TingPosted on: 10-10-2024

Property is very spacious with lots of facilities with an ocean view ?

Bed is a little bit too firm for us and pillows are hard but they might be Japanese style.

    9AngelinePosted on: 9-30-2024

The dinner buffet was superb. The variety of the breakfast was also outstanding. The ooutdoor portion of the onsen had a good sunset view. The place in general was very big and spacious.

The signage for the locations could be clearer. We got lost trying to find the East wing. The slope was to the hotel was steep if you do not drive.

    8JunePosted on: 9-20-2024

The location was great and the onsen was very large and exceptional. The rooms are large and have great views of the ocean.

The dinner buffet was not great. They had a large variety of food options but if you don’t get there at 6pm right when they open (when it is super crowded), they run out of the more popular food options by 7pm. Also, some of the hot food just sits out for a while and does not stay fresh. They are not replaced. Breakfast was very good. We had to leave early one day and asked for breakfast to go since we paid for it. They gave us two plum onigiris. :( the beds are very hard.

    10MariePosted on: 8-27-2024

Great location with a dramatic view. Wonderful meal every night and great bath to relax in at the end of the day. This is my second stay--I love the carpet with the Hokkaido wildflowers. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the Peninsula.

    9SimonPosted on: 8-7-2024

It is clean, everyone is really lovely, the food is excellent, especially the sashimi, so fresh. I love the “classic” look of the hotel. It is a little bit like stepping back in time and enjoying the elegance and comfort of a slower world

There was nothing I did not like !

    9LuweiPosted on: 8-3-2024

Spatial room in Japanese style with a sea-view. Abundant buffet for breakfast and dinner with good variety of choices. English and Chinese speaking receptionists at front desk. Uphill way from Utoro Bus Station to the hotel, but the hotel provides limo service anytime upon request.

    9ChiPosted on: 8-3-2024

Nice room, nice onsen and nice food

Have a long walk up the hill from bus terminal, need pick up by hotel staff

    8WaiPosted on: 7-28-2024

The big onsen, the food, the kindness of the staff, the location

The hotel is definitely outdated. The room is worn out. Should be renovated.
